Drogheria della Rosa
Via Cartoleria 10
40124 Bologna
I can not help but smile when I think of Lord Byron’s quote ‘Bologna is celebrated for producing popes, painters & sausages!’

After a wonderful morning discovering the city with 1 million metres of porticos, 180 medieval towers and the oldest University in the world dating back to 1088. We were ready to sit down to yet another fantastic meal.

Our expert guide gave us a fabulous recommendation Drogheria Della Rosa.
Upon arrival owner Emanuele came out with an aperitif of Donna Fugata Anthilia from Sicily because lets face it this region has a number of fantastic products although wine is one of them! lets keep that Lambrusco in Balsamic Vinegar ONLY!!

At Drogheria della Rosa you will find a delicious selection of local and seasonal fair. The menu is perfect and the wine list divine. Be sure to leave space for dessert !!
Ristorante Trattoria Oberdan da Mario
Via Guglielmo Oberdan 43/A
40126 Bologna
Quaint traditional and family run restaurant. With an exceptional wine list. We enjoyed the classic hand made tortellini in broth. Each city of Emilia Romagna has a different way of making the broth.
The eggplant parmigiana was also very good and the fresh desserts were fabulous.

Ristorante Teresina
Via Guglielmo Oberdan 4
40126 Bologna
Typical and charming small outdoor area where you can sit in the warmer months of Summer and Spring. Very small dining area inside. Serving traditional plates and also Fish. A rarity although the fish is very good and fresh. I typically opt for the traditional when eating at such a place so I enjoyed the home made meat balls & tortellini in Broth with a glass of Sangiovese.

Twinside – Il Bistrot del Caminetto D’Oro
Via de’Felagnami 6
40121 Bologna
Twin Side Bistrot is a revived contemporary version of its authentic and traditional partner next door Caminetto D’Oro. Twmnside is open non stop from 12.30pm until midnight. It is great stop for a light lunch, glass of wine or kraft beer. The interior is that perfect Emilian Design of Contemporary class

Pescheria del Pavaglione
Via Pescherie Vecchie 14
40124 Bologna
This is the Jewish Ghetto district – the market street that is bustling with locals shopping for their daily products. It is absolutely a must when you visit Bologna to wander down the market streets. You can even stop at the butchers for a fresh carpaccio and a glass of wine.
I especially love the Pescheria del Pavaglione where you can select from a super fresh catch of oysters, tartar, carpaccio, shrimp and more!
Ideal for an aperitivo or a quick snack there are very few chairs so you will probably be standing.

La Salumeria
Via Oberdan 16
40126 Bologna
If you don’t have time to head out to a local Parmigiano Reggiano farm the next best option is to purchase the product in one of the many incredibly good delicatessens around Bologna. They can vacuum pack the cheese and you can take in your carry on or suitcase. You can find 24, 36, 46 and even 60 month.
I especially love La Salumeria they also organize cooking classes!

I’ve been in Bologna twice, with my plane landing there on my way to visit family in San Marino. The last time was in April of this year. Next time I return, I’ll be sure to have this post on-hand. Thank you!
Thank you @Chgojohn it is such a great stop over! Best Regards Linda
